Poetry Can Be Awesome

This book will prove to your kids that poetry can be awesome.  I know what you’re thinking.  There is no way my kid will sit for a book of poems.  Shel Silverstein – maybe, Jack Prelutsky – perhaps, Chris Harris – you have got to be kidding!

But it is time to rethink what makes a good poem.  How about a poem about a boy who can’t rhyme, an alphabet book by the laziest artist in the world (you have to see it to believe it), a twenty line poem about avocados and a poem kids must get their parents to read (don’t do it, you have been warned).

Just starting reading the first poem, as I did in my house, and soon your kids will be surrounding you begging for another.  Yes, poetry can be awesome, and funny and full of nonsense and chock full of truths and make you laugh and bring a smile to your heart.  Go get this book!

I’m Just No Good at Rhyming and Other Nonsense for Mischievous Kids and Immature Grown-ups by Chris Harris.
