Today I am sharing a subscription book box with you so that you can give the gift of a book every month. I loved these services when my kids were young. I always discovered hidden treasures that I would read over and over again with my children and it gave them the sense that the gift of a book was fun and something to be celebrated. I do receive these subscriptions from time to time with no obligation to review them, so when I find lovely ones I like to pass them on. Please refer to a holiday post I did with some wonderful gift box subscriptions for picture books and young adult books that I still think are terrific: Gift Book Box Subscriptions for Kids.
Don’t forget to follow One Great Book on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or by email so that you don’t miss a single service that will make kids feel special every time they receive the gift of a book in the mail. Now, how awesome is that?
bookroo
bookroo provides a monthly service for board and picture books and has just added a chapter book subscription. I was able to review the picture book selections and love their choices. The picture books are hidden gems, a little off the beaten path, that kids will love. Some are funny, some are touching and some are a little quirky, which is just perfect in my humble opinion. Boxes are $24.95 a month, including shipping and discounts are available if you subscribe for multiple months. Two hardcover books arrive and each one is wrapped so they really are a present to the reader. And what kid doesn’t love getting mail? These subscriptions are just a delightful way to remind the little ones in your life how important they are and what a treasure books can be in their lives.
Please note that I have not reviewed their chapter book subscription, nor have I seen the selection of chapter books offered in past boxes. This review is only for their picture book boxes.
