We All Deserve Love

Today I have a picture book that shows kids that we all deserve love!  It seems fitting to profile this book right after Mother’s Day.  I mean our kids are not always at their best but we love them through it all, even when they are little stinkers!

Don’t forget to follow One Great Book on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or by email so that you don’t miss a single story that will seriously tug at your cute strings.  I mean, just look at the cover.

Title: Warts and All: A Book of Unconditional Lovewe all deserve love warts and all

Author: Lori Haskins Houran

Target: Preschool-Grade 2

Series: There is a companion book Next to You

What this book is about:

There is someone out there who loves you even when you are a little prickly, drooly or grouchy.  Hey, we can’t always be at our best so it is nice to know that even when we are little stinky someone adores us warts and all!

Why I love this book:

  • Ok, the illustrations are to die for.  Sydney Hanson takes cute to the next level, and not that sugar saccharine cute but that doe-eyed, I can’t imagine not being head over heels in love with you cute.
  • The illustrations are perfectly paired with the author’s text.  I adored this pair’s last book, Next to You: A Book of Adorableness.  This one has a little less of an edge, but it still slays it by being touching without making you gag!

Who this book is for:

Great book for parents to read to any kid, but only if you want them to go to bed feeling all warm and fuzzy.  This book along with its companion book Next to You: A Book of Adorableness would make a great shower gift for a new mom!

Final thoughts:

After 22 years of marriage, perhaps I should dedicate this one to my hubby!
