Gift Book Box Subscriptions for Kids

Well it is time to think about holiday shopping.  You can’t put it off any longer.  But I am here to help with some wonderful gift book box subscriptions for kids.  These subscriptions focus primarily on picture books and YA.  Unfortunately trying to do a box for middle grade readers can be quite difficult given the variety of topic choices in this category!  However, Owl Crate does have a one time Winter Wonderland box for kids ages 8-12 which looks quite enticing.  It is a gender neutral box with a book and Christmas goodies.  These boxes make wonderful gifts to send as a one time present or as a subscription which keeps the fun (and the reading) going a little longer!  I receive no compensation for recommending these boxes.  To connect to their websites simply click on the company name.

Litjoy Crate

Litjoy provides boxes for kids ages 3-5 as well as kids 14+.  The book choices I have seen from past months are fabulous and I really appreciate the little extras that relate to the book.  From paw tattoos and musical instruments with The Bear and the Piano to the coasters and ear buds with Kids of Appetite, your children will find a lot to love with these offerings.  The monthly price is $29.99 and 3 & 6 month subscriptions do offer a slight savings.  Shipping is not included in this price.  I think your kids will anxiously wait for the mail if they think a box full of these goodies may be waiting.

Lillypost provides a picture book box and a board book box subscription.  The picture book box includes four books and nameplates so that kids can make the books their own.  Books are themed for the time of year and I loved the selections from previous boxes.  Each book comes wrapped so that kids can literally feel as though they are receiving the gift of a book.  The prices are $26 for one month and with a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription the price can go as low as $18.33 per month.  Shipping is free.  They also donate books to charity for every box purchased and support a charity of which I am a huge fan, Project Night Night.  A beautiful gift for the little ones in your life.

This book subscription is exclusively YA and curated by the blogger Lisa Parkin of Read.Breathe.Relax.  Every month you get a brand new, hardcover young adult book which is either signed or a signed book plate is included, 1-2 bookish items related to the theme, exclusive content related to the book which is accessed through the website and a personal hand-written note.  Subscriptions are $29 per month but you can also subscribe without receiving book related items for $20 a month.  These prices include shipping.  There is no discount for multiple month subscriptions.  But how enticing are these boxes?

Owl Crate

This monthly box is targeted for readers of YA.  It comes with one hardbound book curated by the energetic staff and YA enthusiasts as well as 3-5 bookish items which can include tote bags, candles, preview chapters of upcoming books, jewelry or even a gift from the author!  The cost is approximately $37 a month with slight discounts for subscribing for 3 or 6 month plans.  This price includes shipping.  I absolutely love how devoted this crew is to Harry Potter and their book enthusiasm shines through.
